As Nowruz approaches, the protests and strikes of the workers and the working people and the deprived classes in various cities have intensified. Some of the protests on Wednesday, February 28 are as follows:
1. The strike of people and businessmen in Baneh and Piranshahr continued on Thursday to protest the closure of the border that added to the poverty of the people in the area. The merchants and marketers of Marivan, including in Khorshid Zarivar, Kordestan and the Municipality Passage, went on strike on Wednesday in solidarity with Baneh and Piranshahr.
2. Hundreds of farmers in the city of Isfahan rallied and chanted slogans in protest against the abolition of water rights against the government: Do not be afraid, do not be afraid, we are all together. On the banners that were carried by the farmers, it was written: 'Where is my Zayandeh Rood?', 'Bury our trust in you'.
3. Protests of workers of Haft Tapeh sugar cane continue. Cane cutting workers of the factory gathered in front of the company in protest of the suicide of their colleague. Ali Naqdi, a cane cutting laborer, after his several months of efforts for salary payments did not yield any result and he could no longer provide for his family and himself, and with his inability to pay his increasing debts, committed suicide on February 27.
4. Retirees of the steel industry protested against the Pension Fund in Tehran.
5. The Alborz Markazi retirees gathered for several consecutive days in front of the Zirab Savadkuh retirement office in protest to non-payment of their claims.
6. Khomeini Shahr's (formerly Sedeh in Isfahan province) teachers have refused to go to the classes since Februaary 20 in protest against the non-payment of their salaries.
7. The contract teachers of Andimeshk are on strike since last week for the non-payment of their demands. They want to receive several months of arrears, New Year’s rewards and rewards for their past years.
8. A group of doctors gathered in front of the Ministry of Health to protest the failure to issue license for opening medical offices to nutritionist doctors.
9. Kisson employees in the Bafgh to Zarrinshahr railroad project protested against the non-payment of 12 to 19 months of their salaries and arrears at the Varzaneh station.
10. A group of Orumiyeh steel workers gathered to protest the non-payment of their salaries and benefits of about one year.
11. A group of employees of Orumiyeh new oil depot who have not been paid for months, protested.
12. Workers of green reservoirs in Assalouyeh went on strike on Tuesday in protest of non-payment of six months' salary.
13. The desalination workers in the Haftgel protested in front of the governorate. They have not received any wages for months and are at risk of being fired.
14. A group of rock carrying truck owners in Nayriz protested for the second day at the entrance of the Rock town and declined to load and transport rocks.
15. Personnel of the company, Payab Kosar, a subway contractor in Shiraz gathered in protest against the non-payment of seven months of salaries in front of the Metro Line 1.
16. Hundreds of dhow owners and ship workers in Bushehr protested against the prohibition on importing goods in front of the Bushehr Customs. They symbolically set up empty tables in front of the customs. While thousands of smuggling containers are being imported into the country by the Revolutionary Guards and other regime organizations every day, the South Customs Office in the past four months has prevented the import of limited goods, which were previously authorized for the sailors and dhow crew. They provide the bulk of their livelihoods in this way.
17. The employees of Tehran's Omran Soleh steel structure company protested against non-payment of their arrears.
18. 85 Shushtar municipality green space workers gathered in protest of the non-payment of their wages for months.
19. The employees of Narges Shiraz Vegetable Oil Company stopped working in protest against non-payment of four months' salary and eight months of insurance.
20. Unemployed youth in the village of Chaghamish of Dezful, gathered in front of Karoun Agro-Industry Company.
21. Workers of the Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company gathered in front of the municipality of Tehran for eighteenth day to protest a five year delay in delivering their houses.
22. The looted people of the Arman Vahdat Institute in Ahvaz protested in front of the Kian Pars Branch chanting: We do not want an embezzler government.
23. The looted people of Padideh Institute in Tehran gathered in front of the building of the Administrative Justice Court.
24. A group of looted people of the Arman Vahdat Institute in Malayer gathered and demanded the return of their deposits.
25. The looted people of the Caspian State Institution in Mashhad interrupted the speech of mullah Hosseinzadeh Bahreini, a member of the regime's parliament on Tuesday, February 27, who intended to justify Caspian’s embezzlements, with the slogan 'Say death to Saif'.
